Lorelle on content theft

It’s still a slow news day, but that doesn’t lessen the fact that Lorelle’s got a great post up on content theft and WordPress confusion.

  1. I do hope this clears up the confusion on all this name calling business. :D Really, if I were in charge of naming things, my first task would be to put whelm in the dictionary, then get rid of Pages for WordPress pseudo-static web pages, and…oh, don’t get me started.

When Google came up with Google, we all had fun playing with the word. Yahoo - Google, they were fun to say. We giggled and enjoyed the feel of the words in our mouths. Now Google has become a noun and there seems to be so little imagination when it comes to creating new names for things. We need to light some fires of name-calling creativity again!

Tag, you’re it. Start spreading the name-calling fun. :D

  2. I really hate the whole WP org/com thing. It’s very confusing sometimes.

  3. I totally agree with you regarding Pages in WordPress, that’s just too confusing when trying to explain how things work to people. Unfortunately, I’ve got no better ideas on the top of my hat, so I’ll shut my mouth about it until then. Or call them Statics.

Hmm, not the easiest tag to receive, Lorelle… :P

  4. “Statics” - I love it. Where were you when the naming of Pages was going around. We had some great debates over it, and I was in favor of “leaf” as I’m a treehugger. :D I would have jumped all over Statics as a fantastic name for those darn pseudo-static web pages.

Maybe we should start a poll and petition. ARE YOU WITH ME! :D
